Testimonials

I pride myself on being genuine and approachable and building strong relationships with clients. I’m passionate about making a difference to them and ensuring that the process is stimulating, enjoyable and stress free. Here’s what some of my clients have said about working with me.

Via Software Systems (U.K.) Limited

As an organisation the VSS Group has traditionally relied on internal resources, methods and ideas within the marketing and sales arena. Before beginning a new marketing and sales campaign it was decided to refresh not only our sales processes but also undertake a root and branch review of our products, potential markets and revenue streams. To this end we engaged Lucy Rumble Associates, who were recommended by one of our longstanding clients. The brief given to Lucy Rumble was very broad with regard to the potential for our product portfolio but focused on our perceived vertical markets. However, upon engagement Lucy suggested that the vertical market focus was widened to encompass markets we had not previously considered. Once engaged the initial analysis Lucy conducted of our current situation was extensive and thorough and in itself generated a body of questions internally from which we were able to draw benefit even before the main body of work had been undertaken.

Lucy was able to provide a complete analysis of each of our existing vertical markets and flesh out the assumptions and expectations with concise figures and opinions as to which directions our efforts should be targeted. To this end we have now modelled our on-going activities on the concrete data supplied by Lucy Rumble Associates. As part of the analysis, and in part due to Lucy’s suggestion of widening the vertical market focus, avenues not previously considered have now been brought into our remit and have allowed us to target prospective clients in diverse markets. This has significantly expanded our sale universe and is starting to reinforce existing ideas and practices.

In order to maximise the benefit of the first body of work undertaken by Lucy Rumble Associates it was decided that segregated presence was needed for our specific products. This required the development of a number of websites and marketing identities. As Lucy Rumble Associates had been instrumental in developing these new strategies and concepts we decided to further tighten our business relationship and Lucy was engaged along with our website author to develop these forward facing elements. We now consider Lucy to be a vital member of our marketing team and I fully expect that she will continue to make a significant contribution in the near and longer term.

The Power of Attorney Practice

I was very keen to move my business on to the next level by developing a marketing strategy and Lucy was definitely the right person for the job. As well as producing a strategic plan Lucy developed a one day marketing workshop for myself and a colleague, and we found the whole day enjoyable, thought provoking and extremely useful.  Lucy understood my business and my customers’ needs straight away and as such she was able to point out opportunities I may have overlooked and give me a clear sense of direction, which included key action plans and recommended timescales to follow. I found Lucy to be very professional, patient and genuinely interested in my business.  She puts you at ease and it is immediately apparent on meeting her that she has a wealth of experience in all areas of marketing.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services to all businesses wishing to expand or who just want a fresh perspective.

Beacon Community College

We needed to reappraise our mission statement, purpose and values in relation to audience and after many years in post it was timely that we seek an objective view from somebody who could provide us with a structure and process to achieve that. Lucy Rumble gave us that framework and the necessary objectivity to successfully achieve this whilst including all stakeholders. We have as a result achieved a better and renewed understanding of our values, core purpose and vision, relevant to the community we serve and I would thoroughly recommend this approach to other schools.

Impact Personnel Services

Having been in business for 13 years I thought I had a good understanding of my business. When Lucy suggested spending a day on a strategic workshop I thought I would not have enough to talk about because it was a simple and straightforward business. This could not have been further from reality and I found the day really made me analyse the Company, its strengths and limitations and how to exploit and develop these. I came away from the day feeling very enthusiastic and optimistic about the future.  When I received a Marketing Strategy Report after the Workshop I was most impressed with the breadth and depth of information gleaned from our work together and the thoughts about how to take the business to the next level. Lucy has continued to offer support and this is very welcome. I am so glad that I took the opportunity to invest in developing my marketing strategy in a formal way and that I Lucy Rumble Associates to assist me in this process.

Secondary Academy

Lucy and I worked closely together as she used her expertise to analyse marketing issues related specifically, but not exclusively, to student recruitment. She conducted interviews with individuals and groups among our key stakeholders including students, staff – teaching and support, parents and governors. Lucy's warm manner and excellent listening skills were very effective, resulting in a detailed analytical report. This highlighted key aspects the academy could address and adopted a solution focussed approach which injected new ideas and a fresh perspective. It is always difficult for schools with limited budgets to decide whether to take the bold step of employing a marketing specialist – and I must confess that I was myself quite sceptical before we started. However I was completely won over by Lucy's highly professional approach and the quality and very personalised service which she offered. The outcomes have undoubtedly been worth the investment and have given a very clear steer to future academy marketing strategy.

Arts and Media Learning

Lucy was commissioned by Arts Media Learning, a network of freelance arts practitioners, for her in depth knowledge and experience of marketing and the education sector. Over a period of weeks, she organised and ran a successful series of training sessions.  Her input was informative and stretched the participants to think of new ways to market and sell their services. Evaluation from those attending was completely positive.

Artist

Lucy certainly knows how to grab attention when it comes to her training sessions. By far she is one of the best speakers I have had the privilege to have met and I could see and learn first hand how she just wants to help people in business to be the best they can be and she is very willing to share her knowledge. I can see the benefits she quickly explains, and definitely worth the travel and taking time out from your business to learn what she can teach.

Creative Enterprise

Lucy worked with our clients from the Creative Enterprise project assisting new and developing creative businesses with marketing advice and support both through specific targeted workshops and 1-2-1 advice. Lucy’s skills and knowledge were much appreciated. She was able to draw on her own experience of working in creative and cultural fields to benefit our clients, who were looking for ways to improve and develop their customer relationships, their marketing strategies and approaches, and their methods of communication. Lucy’s style with our clients was professional and warm – she was methodical but also willing and able to be responsive to particular questions and situations. I am very happy to recommend her and will be working with her again

Cathryn Goodwin, Project Manager.

Management Training Consultant

I got to know Lucy when she was studying on the DLMBA programme at Warwick Business School, while she was working as Marketing Manager for the Coventry Transport Museum. Her approach to the repositioning of the museum was based on intelligent use of research, shrewd awareness of the market, and solid understanding of the MBA theory content. Clearly, she was a model student – highly intelligent, completely self-motivated and intellectually curious.  Her superior academic ability was evident then in her ability to identify and evaluate central issues, and so deliver quality solutions. I continued to follow Lucy’s consultancy career from a distance since then, and it was clear how well she integrated her analytical and managerial abilities with a people-oriented approach. She willingly gave up her time to be a guest lecturer on the MSc programme at Warwick Business School – a generous gesture, and a treat for the students to see how marketing works in practice. She provided impressive visual material and research data to inform students, and also inspired many of them to visit a local museum which Lucy mentioned in her presentation – and to encourage many to consider marketing in non-profits/arts as a career. She has always been, and remains, a pleasure to work with.
